Hello everyone,
We’ve recently received many requests from new clients about fixing their acrylic nail sets that were originally done abroad or at another salon. Unfortunately, not all salons use the same technique for sculpting a new set, and often, the client ends up paying the price. As a reputable nail studio with multiple locations across Amsterdam and Utrecht, we receive countless questions about this issue every day. That’s why we’ve created this handy guide to help you understand your options and make a better choice when booking an appointment.
Our Approach to Fixing Acrylic Nails
In short, we can fix your nails and bring them to the shape of your choice. However, while we always strive to offer affordable solutions, sometimes the only way to properly fix a broken set is to invest a bit more. One of the main challenges is that many salons use different types of powders and liquids. For example, if your original set was made with a powder that we don’t offer in our salon—a factor that can shorten the life of your nails—we can’t simply mix our products with yours. Technically, it’s possible, but it would require examining your nails under a microscope and sourcing the right ingredients, which makes the process too expensive. In such cases, we need to remove the existing set before applying a new one.
This removal process also applies to sets that were applied too crookedly. If your nails point in different directions, we often have no choice but to remove the set and start over. Think of it like a building in Amsterdam: if the foundation is crooked, you either have to live with it or remove it and rebuild.
